Behind the Shoot: Heatcheck Event at The Maidstone

What a Day Club Pool Party Needs

Every event needs a strong set of photos — and it pays to hire someone dedicated to capturing all three layers of it: the guests, the vibe, and the sponsors. That's exactly what this shoot called for.

I recently covered the New Orleans Girls Club x Riverbeats NOLA pool party event Heatcheck 2026 at The Maidstone New Orleans, sponsored by Sun Cruisers. The event brought together New Orleans locals, live DJs, and a local luxury pool for a full day club experience. The coverage had to work for three different audiences at once: organizers, sponsors, and attendees.

What the Day Called For

A sponsored event like this isn't just "take some fun photos." Everyone involved needs something specific from the gallery:

  • Organizers need images that show the energy and turnout — proof the event delivered a great guest experience worth repeating.

  • The media company needs clean, usable content they can move fast with — recap posts, highlight reels, and press-ready shots.

  • Sponsors need their branding visible and well-placed — product in hand, signage in frame, activation moments that don't feel like an ad.

Balancing all three in real time, without the day feeling like a photo shoot instead of a party, is the actual job.

What I Focused On

- Guest energy — candid moments by the pool, group shots, genuine reactions rather than posed lineups

- The vibe — the space itself, the styling, the music, the small details that make an event feel like an event

- Sponsor visibility — Sun Cruisers integrated naturally throughout, from branded moments to guests actually enjoying the product

Why This Matters for Brands & Event Planners

If you're planning a sponsored event, activation, or brand partnership in New Orleans — pool parties, launch events, festival tie-ins, hospitality collaborations — the photography needs to work as hard as the event itself. A dedicated event photographer means:

  • Guest-facing content ready for recap posts within days, not weeks

  • Sponsor placements captured intentionally, not as an afterthought

  • A gallery that serves the attendees, organizers,, the media partner, and the brand — without any one of them getting shortchanged

New Orleans hosts activations, conferences, and sponsored events year-round. If you're bringing a brand, a media partner, or a sponsor into the mix, I'd love to talk about coverage.
